This week, we celebrate Baptism of Our Lord Sunday, a special day on our church calendar where we commemorate Jesus’s baptism at the hands of John the Baptist. We celebrate that glorious day when Christ chose to enter into the muck and mess of this world and took on our sins, and he carried them all the way to the cross.

At the same time, we remember our own baptisms, and we celebrate that Christ came for all people, and that being a Christian, it means so much more than the petty divisions and distractions of this world.
